Among other initiatives, there are plans to provide planters in public places in Stockwood where food plants can be grown. They'll need volunteers to keep an eye on them...... if you might be able to help, please use the contact form to let us know.
______________________________________ Meanwhile, two volunteers who couldn't wait have started a bit of 'guerilla gardening' in the much abused beds at the shops, and have put in some leeks, cabbage, and garlic alongside the mint and camomile outside the Co-op. Passers by seemed very pleased to see the work in progress. more...... __________________________________________________ BUT..... this year's Local Food Festival at Lansdown School, Stockwood, won't be happening after all. It's all down to other unexpected demands on some of the key organisers, making it impossible to give this one the attention it deserves, and to the near total failure of the apple crop in the Open Space orchard - the 'local food' that featured so successfully in last year's event. __________________________________________________ Meanwhile, work has been resumed to keep the orchard in condition for next year.
